MassHealth authorizes the following types of payment to PCAs for the performance of PCA services.
- (A) Activity time performed pursuant to 130 CMR 422.411(A);
- (B) Overtime requiring authorization in accordance with 130 CMR 422.418(A);
- (C) Payment for juror service in accordance with 130 CMR 422.418(B);
- (D) PCA holiday rate determined in accordance with 101 CMR 309.00: Rates for Certain Services for the Personal Care Attendant Program for activity time performed between the hours of 6:00 A.M. through 12:00 A.M. on New Year’s Day; Martin Luther King, Jr. Day; Juneteenth; Independence Day; Thanksgiving Day; and Christmas Day;
- (E) Paid earned time used pursuant to a collective bargaining agreement effective in accordance with M.G.L. c. 118E, § 73, and c. 150E;
- (F) Completion of new hire orientation pursuant to a collective bargaining agreement effective in accordance with M.G.L. c. 118E, § 73, and c. 150E;
- (G) Time spent traveling between the homes of members for whom the PCA is providing PCA services in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement M.G.L. c. 118E, § 73, and c. 150E; and

- (H) Complex care differential paid to PCAs providing MassHealth-covered PCA services to members with a complex care authorization in accordance with 130 CMR 422.414 and 130 CMR 422.418(C).
