Size of Cells

- (A) Eachsingle occupancy cell constructed after the effective date of 105 CMR 470.000 shall contain a minimum of 48 square feet of floor area. (60 square feet recommended) In double occupancy cells there shall be a minimum of 80 square feet. Floor to ceiling height shall be at least seven and one half feet. No cell shall be constructed to serve more than two occupants.
- (B) Each holding cellconstructed after the effective date of 105 CMR 470.000 shall contain at least 70 square feet with a floor to ceiling height of at least seven and one half feet. There shall be 30 square feet of floor space for each additional occupant beyond two.
