Standard - Instructions for Collection, Preservation, Transportation

- (A) The laboratory shallprovide and make available instructions for proper collection, preservation, and transportation of specimens sufficiently stable to provide accurate and precise results suitable for clinical interpretation. This shall apply to specimens referred to other laboratories for testing, as well as to tests performed on-site.
- (B) The laboratory shall establish criteria and implement procedures for the rejection of specimens not collected, preserved or transported properly.
- (C) Collection of specimens shall be defined in the Procedure Manual of the hospital, clinic. or clinical laboratory.
