A person, duly enrolled in a Department-approved Emergency Medical Technician training program, may function as an EMT at the level for which he or she is being trained under the following restrictions:

1. (A) Any and all patient contact by the student is directly supervised and evaluated by an on-site health care professional authorized to do so by the Department-accredited training institution offering the initial training program, and is in compliance with 105 CMR 170.000 and the Department’s administrative requirements.
2. (B) The student shall have successfully completed any and all non-clinical training requirements prior to patient contact for the type(s) of treatment or care being provided.
3. (C) The student complies with all policies and procedures of the training program sponsor, the health care facility responsible for the patient's care and the Department.
