1. A. The permittee shall be responsible for scheduling and performing the work so that the permittee does not cause or contribute to overflows or spills from a sewer system.

2. B. If the permittee’s activities cause or contribute to overflows or spills, the permittee shall take appropriate action immediately, as follows:

   1. 1. contain and stop the overflow;
   2. 2. clean the spillage;
   3. 3. disinfect the area affected by the overflow or spill; and
   4. 4. notify the owner in a timely manner.
