1. A. Methods of Recycling

   1. 1. Use materials salvaged from construction projects and delivered to maintenance units for reuse.
   2. 2. Salvage old signs and strip sheeting from aluminum to reuse to make signs.
   3. 3. Sell scrap aluminum, steel and copper wire to salvage companies for recycling.
   4. 4. Salvage signal parts to refurbish and use over again or sell to salvage companies.
   5. 5. Reclaim zylene from stripper cleaning operation.
   6. 6. Save used oil and antifreeze for reclaiming. Sell unusable waste oil to highest bidder who is also a disposer certified by Department of Environmental Quality.
   7. 7. Recap tires when feasible. Sell used tires to highest bidder who is also a disposer certified by Department of Environmental Quality.
   8. 8. Sell batteries to highest bidder who is also a disposer certified by Department of Environmental Quality.
   9. 9. Use recycled glass beads for pavement striping.
   10. 10. In connection with the disposal of unusable tires and batteries, the Department of Transportation and Development works with Division of Administration toward a plan under which these items are turned in to vendor upon purchase of new tires or batteries on a "one for one" basis.
