1. A. Hydrant Leads. The hydrant lead shall be at least as large as the hydrant. For new construction and hydrant replacement, auxiliary valves shall be installed on all hydrant leads.

2. B. Hydrant Drainage. Where hydrant drains are not plugged, a gravel pocket or dry well shall be provided unless the natural soils will provide adequate drainage.

   1. 1. Hydrant drains shall not be connected to sanitary sewers or located within 6 feet of sanitary sewers, storm sewers, or storm drains and where allowed, shall be above the seasonal groundwater table.
