1. A. A personal emergency response system (PERS) is an electronic device connected to the beneficiary’s phone which enables a beneficiary to secure help in the community. The system is programmed to signal a response center staffed by trained professionals when a "help" button is activated.
2. B. This service must be prior authorized and be in accordance with the plan of care.
