LAC 42:XV.1177 – Confirmation of Child Support Obligations or Delinquent Debt

A. The corporation shall determine that a winner is a debtor according to the following provisions.
1. 1. Prior to the payment of any sports wagering prize of $600 or more, the corporation’s staff shall determine whether the name of the winner and/or social security number appears on the most current list of debtors provided to the corporation by the claimant agencies.
2. 2. If the name of the winner appears on a claimant agency’s most current list of debtors, the corporation may contact the claimant agency to confirm the winner’s status as a debtor and verify the amount of his or her arrearage. The corporation shall not be obligated to request confirmation but shall act in accordance with the information it obtains thereby if it does.
