1. A. For the purposes of these rules, the following definitions apply.

   1. Act—the Louisiana Workers' Compensation Law, Chapter 10, R.S. 23.
   2. Carrier—unless otherwise indicated, insurance companies, self-insured employers and group self-insured employers.
   3. Clerk—the clerks of the district courts in Louisiana.
   4. Director—unless otherwise indicated, the assistant secretary of Louisiana Works responsible for workers' compensation administration.
   5. Employee Notice—the notice the employer is required to keep posted in the workplace.
