- A. An attorney chairman of a medical review panel is to be chosen by the parties according to
R.S. 40:1299.47.(A)(2)(c). An attorney chairman must be selected within one year from the date the request for review of the claim was filed. If, after one year, an attorney chairman has not been secured, the board shall send notice by certified mail to the claimant or the claimant's attorney stating that the claim will be dismissed after 90 days if no attorney chairman is appointed. If no attorney chairman is selected within 90 days of the certified notice, the board shall dismiss the claim.
