1. A. Each person accepted to participate in the medication administration course shall meet at minimum, the following qualifications:

   1. 1. be employed by the detention facility;
   2. 2. be 18 years of age or older;
   3. 3. be free of any known contagious disease, such as Hepatitis B.

2. B. The following individuals are qualified to serve as instructors in the unlicensed employees medication administration course:

   1. 1. registered nurse with a minimum of one year clinical experience, preferably in detention centers or school settings;

   2. 2. other professional personnel may assist the registered nurse in training:

      1. a. a pharmacist;
      2. b. a physician;
      3. c. other registered nurses with a minimum of one year clinical experience;
      4. d. competent health care professionals have the ability to teach detention center personnel;
   3. 3. competent health care professionals have the ability to monitor untoward side effects of medication;
   4. 4. instructors have the knowledge of proper storage of medication in detention centers;
   5. 5. instructors have the ability to develop child specific training appropriate to juvenile's individual health plan and the trainee's abilities.
