The department shall provide first-aid training incorporating all training required by the state's approved program for the department's mine emergency technician program which is applicable to mines. Each candidate for certification as a mine foreman shall complete the department's first-aid course of instruction and shall pass an examination on the course as a prerequisite for certification.
