(1) The board shall have authority to promulgate administrative regulations in accordance with KRS Chapter 13A, have subpoena power, hold disciplinary hearings, conduct examinations, conduct educational seminars that are not applicable to continuing education hours, investigate allegations of wrongdoing under this chapter, seek and obtain injunctive relief to enforce the provisions of KRS 324A.010 to 324A.100, provide a list of certified appraisers to the Appraisal Subcommittee of the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council, and perform other functions and duties as may be necessary in carrying out KRS 324A.010 to 324A.100.
- (a) The board shall investigate every alleged violation of this chapter coming to its notice by the complaint procedure in KRS 324A.052 and shall take action as it deems appropriate within its authority under this chapter.
- (2)
- (b) 1. 2. The Attorney General, Commonwealth's attorneys, and county attorneys shall assist the board in all actions relating to violations of this chapter as requested by the board. The board may refer violations of this chapter to the Attorney General, Commonwealth's attorneys, and county attorneys to institute criminal or civil proceedings in the name of the Commonwealth for a violation of this chapter.
(3)
- (a) The board may: 1. Employ an executive director and any other persons it deems necessary to carry on the work of the board, and shall prescribe their duties and fix their salaries; and 2. Obtain office space, utilities, furniture, supplies, and other goods and services as it deems necessary to carry on the work of the board.
- (b) Each executive director assuming office on or after July 15, 2026, shall be a certified general or residential real property appraiser and shall not have less than ten (10) years of experience as an appraiser within the Commonwealth.
(4) The board may utilize hearing officers provided by the Attorney General's office in accordance with KRS 13B.030.
- (a) The board or its authorized agents may give a licensed or certified appraiser
- (5) advice on best practices management.
- (b) Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, legal action shall not arise from any advice given relating to best practices management by the board or its authorized agents.
