- (1) Of the required hours of cabinet-approved early care and education training that
(2) shall be completed each year between July 1 and June 30 for:
- (a) Licensed child-care providers, at least three (3) of those training hours shall focus on working with children with special needs. This requirement shall begin the first year of employment in a licensed child-care program and continue each subsequent year; and

- (b) Certified family child-care home providers, at least two (2) of those training hours shall focus on working with children with special needs. This requirement shall begin in the first year of employment in a certified family child-care home program and continue each subsequent year. If a child in a licensed or certified child-care program is offered support programs, such as developmental therapy or academic intervention, through an individualized family service plan or an individualized education program created in accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, Part B or C, and the child’s parent or caregiver has submitted written notification describing the support program to the licensed or certified child- care provider, then a licensed or certified child-care provider shall not prevent the diagnostician, therapist, or interventionist from being present on the premises of the child-care center or family child-care home for the purpose of providing services to that child.
- (b) This subsection shall not be construed to require personnel of a local school district to provide support programs on the premises of a licensed or certified child-care program.
