KRS 156.160(1)(i)

NECESSITY, FUNCTION, AND CONFORMITY:

KRS 156.160(1)(i) requires the Kentucky Board for Education to promulgate administrative regulations relating to the preparation of salary schedules for local school districts. This administrative regulation establishes criteria for a pay schedule for substitute teaching.

Section 1.
1. (1) A local board of education shall adopt annually a per diem pay schedule for substitute teaching.
2. (2) A substitute teacher shall be paid on a single salary schedule based on training and experience.
3. (3) A substitute teacher shall be ranked in accordance with requirements outlined in KRS 157.390.
4. (4) The pay schedule for substitute teaching shall be the same, higher, or lower than the rate of pay for a regular full-time teacher.
