KRS 237.110(2)(f)

NECESSITY, FUNCTION, AND CONFORMITY:

KRS 237.110(2)(f) requires the department to promulgate administrative regulations concerning the: (1) certification and decertification of firearms instructors practicing in Kentucky; and (2) firearms safety and training courses or classes that are: (a) approved by the department; or (b) conducted by the department or by a firearms instructor certified by the department. This administrative regulation: (1) restricts the teaching of applicant training instructor qualification courses to persons who are certified by the department to teach; and (2) prohibits advertisements or other representations relating to firearms safety and training courses or classes and licensure to carry a concealed firearm by persons who are not certified by the department.

1. Section 1. A person who is not a certified firearms instructor shall not teach applicant training courses.
2. Section 2. A person who is not a certified firearms instructor shall not advertise or otherwise represent a course he teaches as qualifying students to meet the requirements to receive a license to carry concealed deadly weapons in Kentucky.
3. Section 3. A person who is not a certified instructor trainer shall not teach instructor qualification courses.
