KRS 257.030

NECESSITY, FUNCTION, AND CONFORMITY:

KRS 257.030(2) authorizes the Board of Agriculture to establish necessary quarantines and other measures to control the movement of animals into, through, or within Kentucky. KRS 257.030(4) authorizes the board to promulgate administrative regulations necessary to administer KRS Chapter 257. This administrative regulation establishes restrictions for the transportation of livestock, poultry, and fish through or within Kentucky to prevent and control the spread of communicable disease.

1. Section 1. Livestock, poultry, and fish known or suspected to be infected with, or exposed to, a communicable or reportable disease or exhibiting clinical symptoms of a communicable or reportable disease, shall not be moved or transported through or within Kentucky without authorization from the State Veterinarian.
