The registration fees herein provided for shall be in addition to the fees fixed by law for filing and recording such instruments. Upon payment of the registration fee to the register of deeds, it shall be his or her duty to endorse upon the instrument presented a receipt for the payment of such fee, which shall be substantially in the following terms:
