1. (a) In order to pay the cost of providing full-day kindergarten, a school district may impose a fee to enroll in full-day kindergarten.
2. (b) Nothing in this section shall be construed as requiring school districts to provide full-day kindergarten nor as requiring any pupil to attend full-day kindergarten.

3. (c) As used in this section:

   1. (1) "School district" means any school district which offers both full-day and half-day kindergarten.
   2. (2) "Cost" means that portion of the cost of providing full-day kindergarten which is not paid by the state.
