(a) Therapy services offered by a licensee's employees or under a contractual arrangement with the licensee shall be provided by the following:
- (1) A physical therapist;
- (2) a physical therapist assistant functioning under the supervision of a physical therapist;
- (3) an occupational therapist;
- (4) an occupational therapy assistant functioning under the supervision of an occupational therapist;
- (5) a speech therapist; or
- (6) a respiratory therapist.
(b) Each physical therapist, occupational therapist, speech therapist, or respiratory therapist shall perform the following:
- (1) Make an evaluation visit to each patient requiring therapy services;
- (2) reevaluate each patient's needs on a monthly basis; and
- (3) initiate the patient's plan of care and make any necessary revisions to the plan of care.
- (c) Any licensee that does not provide nursing services and provides only therapy services to a patient may utilize a physical therapist, instead of a registered nurse, to conduct the initial patient evaluation and establish and update the plan of care. If nursing services are added after the plan of care is established, a registered nurse shall conduct a patient evaluation and revise the plan of care before nursing services are provided.
