In hospitals with an organized inhalation department, the following shall apply:

1. (a) Inhalation or respiratory therapy services shall be under the guidance of a designated staff physician.
2. (b) Equipment shall be appropriate for the services provided and shall be checked periodically by the hospital for performance.
3. (c) The personnel working in the department shall be qualified for the type of services performed.
4. (d) Supplies shall be kept and stored in a manner that promotes safety in the hospital.
