Kan. Admin. Regs. § 28-15a-21
Each person that operates a public water supply system shall comply with the following monitoring and analytical requirements for coliforms:
(b) If a person that operates a public water supply system collecting fewer than five routine samples per month has at least one total coliform-positive sample and the department does not invalidate any of the samples, the person shall collect at least five routine samples during the next month the person provides water to the public, unless directed otherwise by the department.
(cv) (1) Each person that operates a public water supply system that uses surface water as its source of supply and serves a population of 4,100 or less shall take at least four water samples during each sampling period.

For each additional 150,000 in population, an additional 30 water samples shall be analyzed for each sampling period.
