(a) The term "path of travel" means a continuous, unobstructed way of pedestrian passage by which the altered area may be approached, entered and exited, and which connects the altered area with:
- (1) an exterior approach, including sidewalks, streets, and parking areas;
- (2) an entrance to the facility; and
- (3) other parts of the facility.
(b) An accessible path of travel may consist of:
- (1) walks and sidewalks;
- (2) curb ramps and other interior or exterior pedestrian ramps;
- (3) clear floor paths through lobbies, corridors, rooms, and other improved areas; or
- (4) part or a combination of these elements.
- (c) For the purposes of this regulation, the term "path of travel" also shall include the restrooms, telephones, and drinking fountains serving the altered area.
