Each applicant for licensure as an athletic trainer shall provide proof that the applicant has received a baccalaureate degree or post-baccalaureate degree with a major course of study in athletic training curriculum from one of the following:

1. (a) An institution whose program for athletic trainers is accredited by the commission on accreditation of athletic training education; or
2. (b) an educational institution whose programs are determined by the board to have standards at least equal to those of an accredited program.
