JM 2-4.112
Appeals by a convicted defendant must be taken within 14 days after entry of the judgment appealed from, unless a timely motion for new trial has been made—in which case an appeal may be taken within 14 days after entry of an order denying the motion. This time may be extended up to 30 days on a showing of excusable neglect. See Fed. R. App. P. 4(b).
