Sec. 8. The following tasks may be delegated to SLP support personnel if the tasks have been planned by the supervisor and the SLP support personnel have been provided with adequate training to perform the task competently:

1. (1) Assist the supervisor with speech-language and hearing screenings (without interpretation).
2. (2) Follow documented treatment plans or protocols developed by the supervisor.

3. (3) Document patient or client performance and report information to the supervising SLP, for example, the following:

   1. (A) Tallying data for the speech-language pathologist.

   2. (B) Preparing the following:

      1. (i) Charts.
      2. (ii) Records.
      3. (iii) Graphs.
4. (4) Assist the supervisor during assessment of patients or clients.
5. (5) Assist with informal documentation as directed by the supervisor.

6. (6) Assist with clerical duties, such as:

   1. (A) preparing materials; and
   2. (B) scheduling activities;
7. as directed by the supervisor.
8. (7) Perform checks and maintenance of equipment.

9. (8) Support the supervisor in the following:

   1. (A) Research projects.
   2. (B) Inservice training.
   3. (C) Public relations programs.

10. (9) Assist with the following departmental operations:

    1. (A) Scheduling.
    2. (B) Record keeping.
    3. (C) Safety and maintenance of supplies and equipment.
11. (10) Collect data for quality improvement.

12. (11) Exhibit compliance with the following:

    1. (A) Regulations.
    2. (B) Reimbursement requirements.
    3. (C) SLP aide, SLP associate, and SLP assistant job responsibilities.
