Sec. 16. As used in this rule, "rescue" means an intervention by a practitioner proficient in airway management and advanced life support. In rescuing a patient, the practitioner must:

1. (1) correct adverse physiologic consequences of the deeper-than-intended level of sedation, such as:

   1. (A) hypoventilation;
   2. (B) hypoxia; and
   3. (C) hypotension; and
2. (2) return the patient to the originally intended level of sedation.
