Sec. 5. The competent practice of dietetics shall include nutrition counseling by advising and assisting groups or individuals on appropriate nutrition intake by integrating information from the nutrition assessment with information on:

1. (1) food and other sources of nutrients; and
2. (2) meal preparation;

while being cognizant of cultural background and socioeconomic status.
