Sec. 7. A licensed diabetes educator in the conduct of the licensed diabetes educator's profession shall abide by, and comply with, the following standards of professional responsibility:

1. (1) A licensed diabetes educator shall provide individualized services reflecting the uniqueness and autonomy of each individual patient.
2. (2) A licensed diabetes educator shall act in a manner that demonstrates honesty, integrity, and fairness.
3. (3) A licensed diabetes educator shall avoid conflicts of interest that are harmful to the patient.
4. (4) A licensed diabetes educator shall accept responsibility and accountability for personal competence in accordance with this section and section 9 of this rule.
