Sec. 22. (a) The promoter of an event must obtain:

1. (1) medical benefit coverage for each fighter participating in a bout in an amount not less than ten thousand dollars ($10,000), which shall provide for medical, surgical, and hospital care for injuries sustained by the fighter while participating in the bout; and
2. (2) accidental death benefit coverage for each fighter participating in a bout in an amount not less than ten thousand dollars ($10,000), which shall be paid to the fighter's estate in the event of the fighter's death resulting from participation in the bout.

(b) Deductibles for the required medical and accidental death benefit coverage must be paid by the promoter.

(c) The promoter must have documentation on file with the executive director or the executive director's designee prior to the start of an event verifying the required medical and accidental death benefit coverage has been obtained.

(d) No event may be conducted in Indiana unless the promoter is in full compliance with the requirements of this section concerning medical and accidental death benefit coverage.
