Sec. 1. (a) This article contains building and fire safety rules applicable to outdoor event equipment, as defined in IC 22-12-1- 17.7.

(b) For purposes of the definition of "outdoor event equipment", as defined in IC 22-12-1-17.7, the phrase "not otherwise attached or anchored to, or otherwise a part of, another Class 1 structure" means that the outdoor event equipment is designed, constructed, and installed separately from any other Class 1 structure, such as a stage or platform, and is, or is intended to be, an independent, standalone Class 1 structure.
