Sec. 8. (a) A design professional shall be required to certify any Class 1 structures if the completed structure would exceed thirty thousand (30,000) cubic feet, including attic space.

(b) The office of the state building commissioner may require a design professional to certify engineered components to substantiate claims that the proposed construction will comply with the rules of the commission.
