Sec. 1. (a) As a prerequisite to each renewal of a certification requiring continuing education and based on expiration, an individual shall complete at least sixteen (16) hours of continuing education or instruction.

(b) The eligible continuing education subject matter for each certification course described in subsection (a) shall be:

1. (1) established by the department;
2. (2) approved by the education board; and
3. (3) published by the department on the education board's webpage.
