Sec. 51. (a) The certification standard for Incident Safety Officer shall be as set forth in Chapter 5 of the NFPA 1521, Standard for Fire Department Safety Officer Professional Qualifications, 2020 edition.

(b) To qualify for a certification based on the certification standard described in subsection (a), an individual must hold a certification in Fire Officer I.
