Sec. 49. (a) The certification standard for Hazardous Materials-Incident Commander shall be as set forth in Chapter 17 of the NFPA 470, Standard for Hazardous Materials/Weapons of Mass Destruction Emergency Response Personnel Professional Qualifications, 2022 edition.

(b) To qualify for a certification based on the certification standard described in subsection (a), an individual must hold a certification in Hazardous Materials-Technician.
