Sec. 36. (a) The certification standard for Fire Officer III shall be as set forth in Chapter 6 of the NFPA 1021, Standard for Fire Officer Professional Qualifications, 2020 edition.

(b) To qualify for entry into a certification course based on the certification standard described in subsection (a), an individual must hold a certification in Fire Officer II.
