Sec. 1. (a) The certification standard for Firefighter I shall be as set forth in Chapter 4 of the NFPA 1001, Standard for Fire Fighter Professional Qualifications, 2019 edition.

(b) To qualify for a certification based on the certification standard described in subsection (a), an individual must hold a certification in Hazardous Materials-Operations.
