Ind. Admin. Code tit. 410, r. 32-1-15 – "Component or building component" defined

Sec. 15. "Component or building component" means a specific design or structural element or fixture of a building, residential dwelling, or child-occupied facility that is distinguished from each other by form, function, and location, including the following:

(1) The term includes, but is not limited to, the following interior components:
1. (A) Ceilings.
2. (B) Crown molding.
3. (C) Walls.
4. (D) Chair rails.
5. (E) Doors and door trim.
6. (F) Floors.
7. (G) Fireplaces.
8. (H) Radiators and other heating units.
9. (I) Shelves and shelf supports.
10. (J) Stair treads, stair risers, stair stringers, newel posts, railing caps, and balustrades.
11. (K) Windows and trim, including sashes, window heads, jambs, sills and stools, and troughs.
12. (L) Built-in cabinets.
13. (M) Columns and beams.
14. (N) Bathroom vanities.
15. (O) Counter tops.
16. (P) Air conditioners.
17. (Q) Baseboards.
18. (R) Pipes.
(2) The term includes, but is not limited to, the following exterior components:
1. (A) Painted roofing.
2. (B) Chimneys.
3. (C) Flashing.
4. (D) Gutters and down spouts.
5. (E) Ceilings.
6. (F) Soffits, fascias, rake boards, corner boards, and bulkheads.
7. (G) Doors and door trim.
8. (H) Fences.
9. (I) Floors and joists.
10. (J) Lattice work.
11. (K) Railings and railing caps, handrails, stair risers, treads, stair stringers, columns, or balustrades.
12. (L) Window sills or stools, troughs, casings, sashes, and wells.
13. (M) Siding.
14. (N) Air conditioners.
15. (O) Porch floors.
