Sec. 1. (a) The state veterinarian shall do the following:

1. (1) Conduct an epidemiologic investigation of infected and source flocks.

2. (2) As a part of the investigation:

   1. (A) designate high-risk and exposed animals; and
   2. (B) identify animals that are to be traced.

(b) The state veterinarian shall make a reasonable effort to do the following:

1. (1) Trace scrapie-positive animals back to their flock of birth.
2. (2) Find high-risk and exposed animals.
