Sec. 39. "Type III marine sanitation device" means any equipment installed on board a vessel that is designed to receive, retain, treat, or discharge sewage, and any process to treat sewage. The device or process must be designed to prevent the over board discharge of treated or untreated sewage or any waste derived from sewage.
