Sec. 37. "Type II personal flotation device" means a wearable personal flotation device designed to turn a person in a vertical or slightly backward position in the water, although the turning action is not as pronounced as with a Type I personal flotation device. An adult size device provides a minimum buoyancy of fifteen and one-half (151/2) pounds, the medium child size provides a minimum buoyancy of eleven (11) pounds, and the infant and small child sizes provide a minimum buoyancy of seven (7) pounds.
