Sec. 7. The applicant shall be given an examination to determine reading and writing ability prior to acceptance for law enforcement training. Validation of the examination and determination of a minimum acceptable score that will predict successful completion of the training shall be the responsibility of the chief executive officer of the department or agency conducting the training.
