Sec. 26. (a) The commission may be guided generally by relevant provisions of the Indiana Rules of Trial Procedure and the Indiana Rules of Evidence to the extent they are consistent with this rule.

(b) This rule shall be subject to special rules, regulations, or orders of the commission in effect, from time to time, under or pursuant to the provisions of laws of the United States of America or regulations or requirements of a federal agency or commission thereunder.
