1. (a) The fee for a certified copy of a record maintained by the bureau under this chapter is as follows:

   1. (1) For a record that is generated by the bureau's computer systems, including a driving record, four dollars ($4) for each certified copy requested.
   2. (2) For a record that is not generated by the bureau's computer systems, eight dollars ($8) for each certified copy requested.

2. (b) A fee imposed under this section:

   1. (1) is instead of the uniform copying fee established under IC 5-14-3-8 ; and

   2. (2) shall be deposited in the motor vehicle highway account.
