Ind. Code § 5-11-5.7-10
(a) Whenever the attorney general, the inspector general, or the designee of the attorney general or the inspector general has reason to believe that a person may be in possession, custody, or control of documentary material, electronically stored information, a tangible thing, or information relevant to an investigation under this chapter involving a false claim, the attorney general, the inspector general, or the designee of the attorney general or inspector general may, before commencing a civil proceeding under this chapter, issue and serve a civil investigative demand requiring the person to do one (1) or more of the following:
