Ind. Code § 4-15-2.2-8 – "Division of the service"

As used in this chapter, "division of the service" means any of the following that are subject to this chapter and whose positions are under the same appointing authority:

(1) A state department.
(2) A division or branch of a state department.
(3) An agency of the state government.
(4) A branch of the state civil service.
