(a) The appointing authority shall adopt standards for firefighters establishing a physical agility test that:
- (1) does not discriminate on the basis of sex;
- (2) reflects the essential functions of the job; and
(3) at a minimum includes testing the following:
- (A) Fear of heights (acrophobia).
- (B) Fear of confinement (claustrophobia).
- (C) Muscular strength.
- (D) Muscular endurance.
- (E) Cardiovascular endurance.
- (F) Musculoskeletal flexibility.
- (b) The appointing authority shall also adopt standards for firefighters establishing a general aptitude test.
- (c) The standards required by this section must be presented to the board of firefighting personnel standards and education established by IC 22-12-3-1 for review.
