1. (a) As used in this section, "recorder" refers to the recorder of Blackford County.

2. (b) Notwithstanding any other law concerning terms of office, the following apply:

   1. (1) The individual elected to the office of recorder at the November 2004 general election is entitled to serve in the office until January 1, 2010.

   2. (2) The individual elected to the office of recorder at the November 2008 general election is entitled to:

      1. (A) take office January 1, 2010, if the individual qualifies; and
      2. (B) serve in the office until January 1, 2013.

   3. (3) The individual elected to the office of recorder at the November 2012 general election is entitled to:

      1. (A) take office January 1, 2013, if the individual qualifies; and
      2. (B) serve in the office until January 1, 2017.
