Ind. Code § 36-2-2.5-8

Powers

As added by P.L.77-2014, SEC.15.

The single county executive may do any of the following:

  1. (1) Order any department, office, or agency under the single county executive's jurisdiction to undertake any task for another department, office, or agency under the single county executive's jurisdiction on a temporary basis, if necessary for the proper and efficient administration of county government.
  2. (2) Establish and administer centralized budgeting, centralized personnel selection, and centralized purchasing.
  3. (3) Audit the accounts of officers who deal with money belonging to or appropriated for the benefit of the county.
  4. (4) Approve accounts chargeable against the county and direct the raising of money necessary for county expenses.
  5. (5) Make orders concerning county property, including orders for:

    1. (A) the sale of the county's public buildings and the acquisition of land in the county seat on which to build new public buildings; and
    2. (B) the acquisition of land for a public square and the maintenance of that square.

      However, a conveyance or purchase by a county of land having a value of one thousand dollars ($1,000) or more must be authorized by an ordinance of the county legislative body fixing the terms and conditions of the transaction.
